Dublin Set to Record Warmest Temperatures in Ireland as High Pressure Brings Settled Weekend Weather

Dublin is expected to emerge as the warmest region in Ireland this weekend, as a strengthening high-pressure system brings largely settled and dry conditions across the country.

According to Met Éireann, scattered showers are likely across parts of Connacht, Leinster, and Ulster during the early hours of Saturday. However, these are expected to gradually clear towards the northeast, giving way to widespread dry weather accompanied by sunny spells.

Temperatures are forecast to peak in the eastern half of the country, particularly in Dublin, where highs of 17°C to 21°C are anticipated on Saturday. In contrast, western regions are likely to remain cooler, with temperatures ranging between 13°C and 16°C under cloudier conditions.

Weather commentator Alan O'Reilly noted that Dublin is set to experience the most favourable conditions, with the capital likely to see the warmest temperatures during Saturday afternoon. He also indicated that the easterly breeze, which had been affecting parts of the region, is expected to ease, enhancing the overall warmth.

While isolated showers, possibly thundery in nature, may develop on Friday night, these are expected to be localised and short-lived. The likelihood of further rainfall over the weekend remains minimal, with only a slight chance of isolated showers on Saturday evening and Sunday.

Sunday is expected to bring a mix of cloud and sunshine, with largely dry conditions prevailing. Temperatures will be slightly lower than Saturday, ranging between 14°C and 18°C, accompanied by light west to northwest or variable winds.

Looking ahead, Met Éireann forecasts that the settled weather pattern will continue into the coming week, with predominantly dry conditions, intermittent sunshine, and gradually milder temperatures.

Overall, the weekend offers favourable weather conditions across much of Ireland, particularly in the east, with Dublin poised to enjoy the warmest spell.
