A shocking incident has emerged from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, where a man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his 11-year-old twin daughters in the Naubasta area, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Incident Reported in Early Hours
According to police, the incident came to light in the early hours of Sunday after a distress call was received on the emergency helpline 112 at around 4:30 am, reporting that a man had killed his two daughters.
Police teams, along with senior officials, rushed to the location—identified as Trimurti Apartments within the Naubasta police station limits—and found a disturbing scene inside the residence.
Grim Discovery at the Scene
Upon entering the apartment, officers discovered the lifeless bodies of the two minor girls. Preliminary observations indicated signs of strangulation, with visible injuries around the neck.
The crime scene was immediately secured, and a detailed investigation was initiated.
Given the gravity of the case, forensic teams were called in to collect evidence and assist in reconstructing the sequence of events.
Accused Taken into Custody
Police confirmed that the accused father was apprehended at the scene and is currently under interrogation. Authorities have yet to establish a clear motive behind the killings.
Officials stated that all possible angles—including family circumstances and the mental health of the accused—are being thoroughly examined as part of the investigation.

Deependra Nath Chaudhary, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), said that officers acted swiftly upon receiving information and took the आरोपी into custody.
He added that post-mortem examinations of the victims have been ordered following completion of preliminary legal formalities.
