DUBLIN — Consumer alert in Ireland: Products recalled. Regulatory authorities in Ireland have issued new safety warnings and product recalls for certain consumer products and food items sold in Ireland.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) , which ensures the safety of non-food products , and the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI), which is a food safety agency , have asked the public to check if they have these products in their homes and stop using them immediately.
Consumer products and electronics
The CCPC issued warnings regarding the safety of household appliances and some children's products:
Dunelm Cozy & Warm Electric Blankets: Recalled due to electric shock hazard.
Babyland Minnie Mouse Style Stroller: Recalled due to safety flaws in manufacturing and design.
Toshiba & Finlux TVs: Safety warning issued for certain parts.
Amazon Respirator Masks: Warning issued for not meeting safety standards and air filtration quality.
Food recall
Food items that have been warned by FSAI citing undeclared ingredients that may cause allergies, packaging errors, and quality issues:
Doritos Chilli Heatwave Corn Chips: Recalled due to a packaging error that did not clearly state on the outside of the package that it contained milk.
1001 Delights Ice Cream - Dubai Style: Recalled due to failure to disclose the presence of cashew nuts.
Capri-Sun Orange Juice (Capri-Sun Orange 10-pack): Sugar-containing juices recalled after being incorrectly labeled as 'Capri-Sun Orange Zero' (Sugar-free).
Diggers Chicken Curry & Chips: Recalled because ingredients that may cause allergies, such as mustard and celery, were not listed on the label.
Horgans & M&S Truffle Gouda Cheese: Recalled due to health and safety concerns.
Tesco Finest Smoked Salmon: Recalled due to bacterial contamination or quality issues.
Instructions for customers
Consumers who have purchased the listed non-food products are advised to immediately stop using them and return them to retailers for a full refund or to purchase a new one.
In the case of food products, especially products with allergy warnings, should not be consumed by those with the said allergies under any circumstances. These can be returned to the stores where they were purchased.
