AHMEDABAD — The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) celebrated the nation's space milestones by highlighting its extraordinary trajectory from humble beginnings to global leadership.
Speaking at the national event held at the Space Applications Centre (SAC), ISRO Chairman Dr. V. Narayanan recalled the agency's early days when rocket parts were transported on bicycles due to a lack of conventional transport vehicles. Contrasting those modest origins with India's current standing, Narayanan noted that the country now ranks among the world's leading spacefaring nations, achieving top-tier status across multiple space technology domains.
The remarks coincided with commemorations for National Space Day, marking the historic anniversary of the Chandrayaan-3 mission's successful soft landing near the lunar south pole. Narayanan emphasized that the mission's impact extended far beyond the lunar surface, serving as a profound source of inspiration nationwide while contributing valuable scientific data to the global research community. As ISRO looks forward to ambitious upcoming projects like Gaganyaan and Chandrayaan-4, the leadership credited the agency's progress to the sustained collaboration between scientists, academia, and industrial partners.
