TEHRAN — Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has firmly defended his administration's approach to ongoing diplomatic efforts with Washington, declaring that Tehran has "not compromised on a single clause" of the signed framework memorandum of understanding. Speaking to the public during a national event, Pezeshkian emphasized that while Iran remains open to logic and structured dialogue, it will not yield to external pressure or threats. "We signed the memorandum of understanding because we believe that we cannot achieve anything through war,"
Pezeshkian stated, asserting that the country operates from a position of strength and dignity rather than surrender.
Pezeshkian noted that the diplomatic pathway and the terms of the memorandum were thoroughly reviewed and approved unanimously by Iran’s Supreme National Security Council as the optimal route to navigate away from prolonged regional conflict. Dismissing domestic and international speculation of a climbdown, the Iranian president maintained that the agreement contains zero compromised provisions, safeguarding national interests while pursuing an end to a state of neither war nor peace.
The presidential remarks coincide with intensifying financial pressures from Washington, where the White House has threatened aggressive economic isolation measures, while Iranian security leadership maintains strict control over critical regional transit corridors like the Strait of Hormuz. Pezeshkian underscored that the nation's security architecture and armed forces remain fully prepared to safeguard the country against any future hostility, even as diplomatic channels attempt to chart a viable path forward.
