JAMMU: The Centre has appointed IAS officer Sajjan Singh Yadav as the new Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir. He is scheduled to take charge on November 1, following the retirement of incumbent Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo on October 31.
The appointment marks a change in the top administrative leadership of the Union Territory. Yadav belongs to the AGMUT cadre, which covers Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and several Union Territories.
Dulloo took over as Jammu and Kashmir’s Chief Secretary in December 2023. The new appointment is expected to ensure continuity in the administration as the Union Territory continues to implement development programmes and public-service initiatives.
The appointment takes effect in line with the official order issued by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.
