INDIA — A new bone-health scorecard developed through an initiative involving the Osteoporosis Society of India and Sun Pharma aims to help identify people who may be at increased risk of fractures.
The tool is intended to support awareness and early assessment of bone health, particularly among people who may not recognise their risk until a fracture occurs.
Osteoporosis weakens bones and can increase the likelihood of fractures, especially as people age. Early risk assessment, appropriate medical advice, adequate nutrition and suitable physical activity can play important roles in protecting bone health.
The scorecard is intended as a screening aid rather than a medical diagnosis. People identified as potentially at risk should consult a qualified healthcare professional for further evaluation and advice.
