A Student Wounded In A Shooting In Kiev, Ukraine, Has Arrived At Hindan Air Base From Russov, Poland.

Delhi: An Indian Air Force plane carrying Harjot Singh, a student wounded in a shooting in Kiev, Ukraine, has arrived at Hindan Air Base from Russov, Poland. An Indian Air Force flight carrying Indian student Harjot Singh, who was shot in Ukrainian capital Kyiv a few days ago, landed at the Hindon airbase here Monday evening, officials said. Minister of State for Civil Aviation V K Singh said 205 Indian students returned to India on the flight that had left from Rzeszw in Poland at 10.30 am and landed here at 6.15 pm, they said.

Minister of State for Road Transport, Highways and Civil Aviation VK Singh on Sunday said that Indian student Harjot Singh, who was shot dead in Kiev, Ukraine, would arrive in India on Monday.

"Harjot Singh, an Indian student who was shot and lost his passport during a clash in Kai, will return to India with us tomorrow. Wishing him a speedy recovery by providing him with food and care at home, Vijay Kumar Singh tweeted.

Speaking from his hospital bed in Kai on Friday, Harjot Singh asked the Indian embassy in Ukraine to help him evacuate and provide documentation. Harjot Singh told ANI that he sustained multiple injuries after being shot at by the car in which he was traveling. Harjot Singh said that while studying information technology in Ukraine, he got a new life.

The government had arranged flights from neighboring Ukraine to evacuate Indian students as tensions escalated following Russia's military action in Ukraine.
