How long can you activate?
After purchasing your pass, you have up to 11 months to activate it. That means no need to travel, or even pick a start date right away. All interrail passes and refund facilities are available. They can also be exchanged if they become unusable.

Eurail offers several variations of rail passes. Each type of rail pass has its own conditions and limitations (age, usage, number of countries, duration, etc.). All of these terms are part of the offer and are clearly stated on the website before terminating any contract.

Reservations are also required for high speed and night trains. The cost will have to be paid extra. You can travel in first and second class carriages with first class passes. Travel in second class carriages only with second class passes.
Only European Residents can use the Interrail Pass. If you are a non-European resident, you must use a Eurail Pass for the trip. If the customer is a European citizen or an official legal resident, the customer is eligible to purchase an Interrail Rail Pass:
To travel with a discounted Youth Pass, you must be between 12 and 27 years of age on the start date of the Interrail Pass.
One of the European Union member states or one of the other European countries: Albania, Andorra, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Faroe Islands, Gibraltar, Iceland, Isle of Man, Kosovo, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Russia Serbia, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom or Vatican City.
Non-citizens or official legal resident of the countries defined in Article 5.2 are not eligible for travel on the Interrail Pass.
Outbound travel and inbound travel are possible but the Global Interrail Pass must be used. However, the Interrail Pass can only be used for travel on train, ferry and public transport companies of the said partner companies.
