INDIA: New Recruitment in the Indian Armed Forces ‌ "Agni Path Scheme…" Attractive Benefits

India: The Cabinet Committee on Security has approved a project called 'Agnipath', which marks the beginning of a new recruitment program in the history of the Indian Armed Forces. This is four years of military service. This is an opportunity for the youth.


Eleven-and-a-half-year-olds to 21-year-olds can join the four-year military service. These young soldiers are known as fire heroes. Six months of training. Salary ranges from Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000 per month. Upon completion of the service period, a package of Rs. 10 to 12 lakhs will be given. The scheme recruits between 45,000 and half a lakh youth every year. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said the project would enhance the physical fitness and health of the country's youth, train them to use new technologies and increase employment. The Minister said that Indian youth will be given a huge opportunity to enter the armed services.

What is the Agnipath project ?

Agnipath is a Pan India Merit Based Recruitment Scheme for the Enrollment of Soldiers, Airmen and Sailors. The scheme provides an opportunity for the youth to serve in the regular cadre of the Armed Forces. All those recruited under the 'Agnipath' scheme will be called 'Agniveer'.

Firefighters will be enrolled for a period of 4 years of service, including training.
After four years, only 25% of firefighters will be retained or reinstated in the regular cadre based on merit, readiness and medical fitness.

They will then provide full service for another 15 years. The first four years of service under the contract are unlikely to be considered to determine the final pension benefits.

The other 75% of firefighters will be partially funded with their monthly contributions using an exit or “service fund” package of Rs 11-12 lakh, as well as skills certificates and bank loans for assistance in their second career.

Training

Agnipath will have the same qualifications as now for recruitment to the Armed Forces. Firefighters will be given the same training as the Indian Armed Forces, including military exercises. Training standards will be closely monitored by officers in the Armed Forces

Assignment

After six months of training, the top 25 per cent of those who can be appointed in various fields will be appointed for a period of 15 years (Permanent Commission). The remaining 75% will be given an exit package of Rs 11.71 lakh. They can leave and return to normal work. There will be help from the military to find new jobs. ▫️Diploma or credit will be given to firefighters for further education.

Salary

Initially the annual package will be Rs 4.76 lakh, which will increase to Rs 6.92 lakh by the end of the service. The monthly salary range will be Rs 30,000- 40,000. Also get allowances and non-contributory insurance coverage. There will be no gratuity and no pension. At the end of four years, Sevanidhi will pay Rs 11.7 lakh in the name of 'package'. You do not have to pay income tax for this.
