IRELAND: Waterford festival All Together Now has issued an apology over an act they say "do not align with the views" of the event after they spoke on Saturday.
The popular festival in Portlaw, Co Waterford has a huge line-up of singers and speakers across the bank holiday weekend with huge crowds descending on the south-east.
Feminist campaigners Rachel Moran and Stella O'Malley spoke on Saturday but had been called out by some on Twitter for their views, with some asking for them not to be allowed on stage.
The event released a statement after their presentation that read: "Today we had two speakers here that do not accord with the values of ATN Festival.

"We sincerely apologise for any pain or suffering caused to the festival community, performers, and supporters. We endorse transgender rights. That is all there is to it. We want this festival to be a secure, encouraging, and loving space for everyone."
Huge thanks to the @ATNfestival for refusing to capitulate to demands from online bullies to silence women. It was a lovely event, went really well, & the highlight was the proponents of cancel culture being denied in their mission to shut women up. #TheTideIsTurning https://t.co/fqQjBeIA3n

To which Rachel Moran replied: "Which of my and @stellaomalley3's opinions do you not share, @ATNfestival? Which of our opinions do you consider to be so abhorrent that you feel the need to publicly apologise for being associated with us and believing it likely to have caused "pain or anguish"?"
