IRELAND : As part of National Cinema Day, movie tickets will be reduced to €4 nationwide on Saturday.
On September 3, ticket prices will be reduced to €4 across Ireland's more than 95% of theatres, including those with premium seating, screens, and 3D presentations.
Beginning on Monday, August 29, tickets for screenings will be made available both online and at the box office.
The director of Omniplex Cinemas, Mark Anderson, expressed the company's "pleasure" in taking part in National Cinema Day.
We are pleased to participate in National Cinema Day by providing €4 tickets for all performances, including new releases, Anderson added. "Cinema has been an ever-present in Irish society for over 100 years."
"Celebrating cinema is crucial for the industry, and what better way to do that on September 3, 2022, than by seeing a movie (or two)? Everyone will be able to enjoy something! See you on Saturday, and always make reservations in advance to avoid disappointment!
Awarded Irish director Emer Reynolds, who most recently helmed the Olivia Colman-starring picture Joyride, called going to the movies "one of life's great delights."
Nothing compares to the wonder of the cinema, experiencing the waves of emotion that everyone feels together, and crying and laughing with strangers in the dark, according to Reynolds.
I'm eager to enjoy National Cinema Day at my neighbourhood theatre and savour the grand beauty and grandeur of the Big Screen.
