The Minister for Foreign Affairs has announced the reopening of the Irish Embassy in Kyiv.
The embassy has operated remotely since Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Minister Simon Coveney said the Department of Foreign Affairs is "closely monitoring" the situation in Ukraine along with its EU and other international counterparts.
The department continues to "strongly advise against" all travel to Ukraine for any purpose, he said.
Renewing and expanding their network of connections with Ukrainian government officials will be the team's first goal as the Embassy begins operations in Kyiv, according to the minister, in order to better inform Ireland's provision of support and assistance to the government and people of Ukraine.
The Irish Embassy in Ukraine will function with a constrained ability to offer in-person consular support, much like other embassies there.
Since then, a number of western nations, including the UK, US, France, Spain, and Italy, have restored their diplomatic representation in Kyiv.
