Limerick: Limerick St. George Orthodox Parish is in the throes of Onam celebrations with the coming of Mahabali and Onam with children's Onam games renewing the active memory of Kerala's national festival Onam. . On Saturday, the third day of September, the regular Holy Mass of the parish will begin at 8:30 am at St. Oliver Plunkett Church.
Vicar Fr.Ninan Kuriakos will officiate. The general assembly will be presided over by Fr.Ninan Kuriakos. Chief guest Fr.Robin Thomas (Catholic Parish Priest) will deliver the Onam message, followed by Thiruvathira, various musical programs by children and adults, vanchipaat, folk dance, folk songs and songs.
A sumptuous Onam feast is also arranged. Various sports competitions like tug-of-war and Uriyadi will be held.Participation is for those who have registered in advance. Parish Vicar Fr.Ninan Kuriakos,Trustee Mr Reni George, Secretary Mr. Sainu Ninan, Managing Committee members, Food Committee Coordinator Mr.Praveen C Nainan, Program Committee Convenor Mr. Ashish Ravi Koshy will lead the program. Father Ninan Kuriakos said that he wishes all Malayalis a golden age full of prosperity, wealth and happiness.
