Joseph Sebastian,  Ruan Joe Simon

The deceased in Londonderry have been identified as Joseph Sebastian alias Joppu, son of Aju-VG couple  and Ruan Joe Simon, son of Joshi. Both 16-year-olds were students of St. Columba's Boys' College. The bodies of both were recovered and shifted to the hospital. Meanwhile, more information is becoming available about how the accident happened.

"The whole situation is very ambiguous - these young people were enjoying the last days of summer before going back to school next week.

"They were out on an adventure and this happened."

The city has a well-established Kerala community, mainly in the waterside area, three miles from where the incident took place. They are from Kerala state of India. East Derry MP Gregory Campbell described the scene of the tragedy as a quiet place.

"I think it was a good day and a group of people decided to go in the water and it ended in disaster," he said. Lough Enagh, famous for its fishing, is a pair of lakes located between Judges Road and Temple Road in Maydown, near City of Derry Rugby Club. Green Island, also known as Templetown Island, is said to be accessible by sea.

The accident happened yesterday evening. The accident occurred when a group of eight people, including the deceased children, went cycling. Considering the school holidays and good weather, the children went cycling. However, it is reported that Ruan fell into the water of the lake on the way and Joseph, who tried to save him, also met with the same accident. According to the current information, the cause of the accident may have been that the legs got stuck in the mud in the water.

As soon as the accident occurred, emergency services rushed to the spot and started rescue operations. In the subsequent search, Ruan was first found and immediately rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Joseph's body was later recovered after an extensive search by foil search and rescue and police divers. Joseph's death was confirmed at the scene. By the time the bodies were taken to the nearby Altnagelvin Hospital, many people had come to the hospital after hearing about the incident.

Joseph's father Aju is the only member of Ottaplakal family in Erumeli Korati Kuruamoozhi. The deceased Roshan is the son of Joshi, a native of Kannur. Meanwhile, both families are devastated by an unexpected tragedy. Relatives and friends are struggling not knowing how to comfort the parents of the children. The friends who saw the death of their close friends in front of their eyes are in more pain than that. Eight people, including the dead children, went cycling. They go out together for football and cycling and are still in shock of the tragedy that happened to two of them.

The area where the incident took place has been cordoned off by the police. MLA Ciara Ferguson has asked not to spread rumors about the incident through online media. Ferguson has said that he will wait until the exact information is available from the emergency services.
