DUBLIN: Fans who attended Saturday's Big Ten football game between the Northwestern Wildcats and Nebraska Cornhuskers at Aviva Stadium in Dublin were treated to free beer and food at the stadium. Fans got this golden opportunity when the Wi-Fi in the stadium went on strike.
Due to a Wi-Fi outage, the credit card reader at the concession counter was not functioning. Cash donations for relief are not accepted by Aviva. In light of this, the sellers agreed to provide complimentary culinary products, such as pizza and beer.
Then, a sizable crowd of spectators gathered in front of the concession stalls to queue up for free food and beer. After that, everyone went back to their seats with a beer and a bunch of appetisers.
"Nothing is free in Ireland, but not here," said a Dubliner on his way back from buying snacks.
