Citing it as a “unique and exciting” opportunity to partner with “the only municipal stadium of its kind in Ireland”, officials are hoping the ongoing €11.5 million investment in upgrading the venue will play a part in attracting suitors.
Tallaght Stadium is home to the current League of Ireland Premier Division champions Shamrock Rovers, with the Ireland women’s side and men’s U21 team playing their home internationals there.
Once the most recent North Stand extension is completed, capacity is expected to surpass 10,000. South Dublin County Council also confirmed they intend to hold a concert there within the next 18 months as on-pitch space takes that closer to 20,000.
Tallaght Stadium, Core Sponsorship, and the council will supervise the tendering process.

The council's statement made a point of highlighting the accomplishments and good vibes around the numerous football teams that play there.
This was the first time Ireland has qualified for a World Cup play-off. "The arena also hosted the recent FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 Qualifier between the Republic of Ireland and Finland," it stated.
"It also served as the site of a recent Shamrock Rovers match against Djurgrdens and will host upcoming UEFA Europa Conference League matches against Gent and Molde.
The winning tenderer will profit from a wide range of business opportunities, including significant branding potential, widespread editorial mentions, TV broadcast and digital media exposure, ticketing and venue leasing opportunities.
The latest redevelopment will be finalized by July 2023, the statement confirmed: “Talat Stadium will secure its UEFA Category 4 status, allowing it to host all UEFA competitive matches, including internationals, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa League. Europa Conference League Games.
"This substantial commercial potential represents another exciting milestone in the construction of Tallaght Stadium," South Dublin County Council CEO Daniel McLoughlin said.
"The venue has established itself as a recognisable landmark, a source of pride, and a focal point for the larger community in South Dublin County and Tallaght.
"The stadium's naming rights represent a unique opportunity for a new commercial partner to be at the heart of a thriving community that will directly benefit through the reinvestment of funds generated in local sporting and community projects."
