Belfast: New Britain's King Charles III will visit Northern Ireland today, with crowds turning out to welcome the monarch's first visit less than a week since his coronation following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth. The King and Queen Consort Camilla are visiting Northern Ireland as part of a program of visits.
Joining together this afternoon will be the President of Ireland, Michael D Higgins and his wife Sabina Higgins, as well as Taoiseach Michael Martin; Foreign Minister and Defense Minister Simon Coveney are also among them

From where they will proceed to Hillsborough Castle, where The monarch will have a private audience with Heaton-Harris and a reception at the castle, where the monarch will meet a number of people from Northern Ireland. After this, they will attend a prayer service for the life of the late Queen at St Anne's Cathedral.
The King and Queen will arrive around Writers' Square before returning to England. Members of the royal family are allowed to line the route to Hillsborough, but the service at St Anne's is by invitation only.
The last time Northern Ireland welcomed a royal visit was when the then-Prince met with those fleeing the Ukrainian occupation in March this year. While at Hillsborough Castle, they will receive a message of condolence on behalf of the people of Northern Ireland from the Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly, Alex Maskey MLA.
