Tulasi Thandi, 64, the founder and chairman of Indian wind turbine maker Suzlon Energy Ltd( SUZL.NS), died on Saturday.
Thandi, who was also chairman of the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association, died of a heart attack later that day, the company said.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, "Tanti was a leading business leader who contributed to India's economic progress and strengthened our nation's efforts towards sustainable development."

By advocating for legislation that promote inexpensive and sustainable energy, Tanti founded Suzlon in 1995 and helped the Indian wind energy sector expand. The company has a market valuation of $1.1 billion and more over 19.4 GW of installed capacity spread across 17 nations.
With more than 100 wind farms and a total installed capacity of more than 13.45 GW, Suzlon dominates the market in India.
