Social welfare recipients are set for a cash boost in the coming weeks with six lump sum payments due.

For parents and guardians who have children under the age of 16, child benefit is a monthly stipend.

All eligible families will get a double payment in November.

As long as they are enrolled full-time in school, in training, or have a handicap that prevents them from supporting themselves, they are also eligible to receive this payment if they have children between the ages of 16 and 17.

In Ireland, newborns must register their births within three months after their birth. After then, a Child Benefit claim will be initiated by the Department of Social Protection for your child.

It should be remembered that one month prior to your child's 16th birthday, parents and guardians are required to reapply for child benefits.

This form also requires the official signature and seal of:

-If your child is enrolled in a full-time programme at a school or college,

-If your child is enrolled in full-time training, contact the training organisation.

-If your child is disabled and unable to support themselves financially, you should consult a doctor.
