Argentina even get their first corner in the 32nd minute. Moreover, the rough blocks of the Mexican players also became a challenge for Argentina. In the 35th minute, Argentina managed to get the ball to the Mexican post. Messi's free kick from a difficult angle was saved by Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa. The free kick was due to Di Maria being brought down by the Mexican defender. In the 41st minute, Di Maria's cross into the Mexican box was headed wide by Laturo Martinez.
In the 44th minute, Aroha's free kick was handled by Argentinian goalkeeper Amy Martinez. It was Mexico's first goal attempt. Neither team could even test the goalkeeper in the first 30 minutes. Argentina's midfield could not even get the ball forward. Di Maria made some isolated moves but had little impact on the result. With Messi surrounded by the Mexican defence, it was Di María who was at the helm of all the moves. De Paul was only a spectator. Only Martinez's performance in Argentina's defense was noticed.

Messi didn't even have an iota of confidence when he was kicked. The kick crosses well over the bar. In the 56th minute, Di Maria's ground shot into the Mexican box. But it's just that there were no stars to shoot. By the time Mac Alistair came running, the Mexican player was involved.

It was in the 64th minute that the Argentinian fans got the goal they were waiting for. And that is a shot from Messi's left leg. Di Maria's pass from the right wing resulted in the goal. Ochoa dived wide of Messi's low shot from outside the box but to no avail. Molina's shot went over the crossbar in the 70th minute. After the goal, the Argentinian coach strengthened the defense by dropping Christian Romero. Romero replaced Di Maria.
The defense then did a fine job of fending off all of Mexico's attempts. Enzo Fernandez and Ezequiel Palacios arrived in Argentina's midfield and there were more good moves. Julian Alvarez's quick moves in the forwards also gave Argentina a wake-up call. Enzo's goal followed. In the 87th minute, Enzo hit the net with Messi's assist. The goals were enough to win the match.
