GameStop has announced that it will close all 35 stores in Ireland. In 2010, there were 50 locations in Ireland. The announcement shocked customers. The Texas-based video game retailer has been gradually closing some of its Irish stores over the past few years.
GameStop was also told to use gift cards "as soon as possible." On Thursday, GameStop Ireland announced via Twitter that it was ceasing operations.

It is not yet clear whether Irish customers will still be able to purchase GameStop concessions, but physical closures have begun at some of the locations identified by Kerry.
Stop's share price rose as much as 8,000 percent in January 2021. Stock prices fell again in the latest figures, but the retailer posted its first quarterly profit in two years in March. In the quarter ended Jan. 28, its last quarter was 2.23 billion, with revenue of 48.2 million. But it pales in comparison to its biggest loss of 17.5 million recorded last year.
However, as part of its plans to continue, cutting costs in the market. In March, GameStop announced that it would discontinue certain services such as gaming industry merchandising and gift cards available in Irish stores.
