The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has finally admitted to evading tax in India

New Delhi: The BBC has finally admitted to not much paying taxes in India after it had to pay fines several times for various programs it did to get exclusive interviews. 40 crores was admitted. This media giant, trusted by people only abroad, once used to flaunt its prowess and make its rivals tremble.

If time passes, we must run ahead, but if we can't, we must at least run with it. India, which they call a country of poverty, has been continues to grow without stopping after its independence. It is not us who are poor, but those who know where food comes from in a country covered with ice. In addition, there is no such clean image in own country as in our country and so on. Critics in Britain describe the BBC as a biased broadcasting corporation. While a large number of people in countries including India are fans of BBC reporting, the BBC, one of the world's largest news media, does not have such a large fan base in its homeland. Regularly apologizing for not including Kashmir while reporting on India is also viewed as entertainment by the BBC. Critics have also accused the BBC of not showing the same enthusiasm when reporting similar incidents in Britain as it does in countries like India where women and girls are attacked.

Meanwhile, after five months, when the BBC officials, who were overwhelmed by the evidence, confessed to tax evasion of 40 crore rupees, the critics have come forward with increased enthusiasm. British media BBC has openly admitted to tax evasion in India. In an e-mailed explanation to the Central Board of Direct Taxes department, it was clarified that the BBC has been functioning till date without paying the actual tax. BBC has admitted to fraud of Rs 40 crores.

Two officials of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) have disclosed the information related to this. Officials clarified that till date the company has been paying less amount as tax than what it actually has to pay. In total, it is 40 crore rupees including arrears. In February this year, an investigation was started against the BBC in connection with income tax evasion. In connection with this, officials also conducted inspections at the offices of the media organization in Delhi and Mumbai.

The statement noted that the BBC is engaged in the business of developing content in English, Hindi and various other Indian languages. At present, the measures related to this have been initiated. The CBDT has decided to continue legal proceedings against the institution until the matter is fully resolved. Earlier, the media organization had alleged that the investigation related to income tax evasion was a revenge move by the central government.

But the accusations, which have been only accusations for so long, will now be completely tainted on the BBC. Because when the Income Tax Office in India raided the BBC last February, BBC fans all over the world thought that it was the Indian government's revenge for the Gujarat documentary that was aired incriminating Modi. When India officially protested in this regard, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak had reached the position of rejecting the BBC.

When the BBC revealed that 40 crores of tax evasion was done in India in the last six years, the main question is whether the double standards of the BBC will end in this one fraud. But now it has been officially clarified that the mistake was made, the official added. They will surely have to answer not only in India but also in Britain.
