Many of the most gruesome murders, UK's killer nurse Lucy Letby arrested; The 33-year-old was convicted of killing 7 the babies while working as a nurse

UK: Many of the most gruesome murders, UK's killer nurse Lucy Letby arrested. The medical report stated that air was introduced into the bodies of the seven children who took their lives. Nurse Lucy Letby was found guilty of murdering seven babies in the neonatal unit. The 33-year-old was convicted of killing the babies while working at the Countess of Chester Hospital between June 2015 and June 2016.

More cases are likely, meaning around 4,000 cases will be studied in UK hospitals where they worked. Returning from an excursion to York with fellow nurses, Lucy is put in charge of care. A newborn baby suddenly fell unconscious after the new charge nurse. Doctors arrived immediately. Doctors noticed frequent changes in the baby's skin color. This raised many doubts among them.

Injecting air into the bloodstream of any patient, from newborns to neonates, can block blood vessels, stop blood flow, and thereby stop the heart. There is no exact estimate of air requirement. However, experts say that one teaspoon (5 ml) of air is enough to kill a newborn baby.

Air can enter the bloodstream through the injection or may be fed into the stomach through a feeding tube. Air embolism, a condition in which air bubbles enter blood vessels and block blood flow, can cause pale skin and pink spots. Doctors found discoloration and pink marks on the bodies of five of the seven children who were victims of Lucy's cruelty. As the blood flow is obstructed, different parts of the body are deprived of oxygen. This is why the skin is pale. When air passes directly into the blood. Red blood cells come into contact with oxygen and deliver oxygen. This is the reason why pink spots often appear. In the case of Lucy Letby's first victim, the color change was noticed by doctors trying to save the baby.

Post-mortem X-rays of these two children revealed the presence of air in major veins and arteries. Babies who are given too much air through a feeding tube can die from bloated stomachs, pushing out the diaphragm and pressing on the lungs. Experts told the court that the two children died of asphyxiation.

However, some babies who were ventilated through a feeding tube survived. But many of them cannot have a normal life. As a result, a child suffered severe brain damage. Post-mortem X-rays of children who died in this way revealed the presence of large amounts of air in the stomach.

Letby's dream was to become a nurse right from her school days. To achieve this, in 2008, she came to Chester from Hereford to study nursing. She joined a three-year nursing course. She completed the course in 2011 and qualified as a Band 5 nurse. Band Five has been plotting to kill children since they started working as nurses.

Soon after, in 2012, Lucy Letby took a job as a nurse in the neonatal unit at the Countess of Chester Hospital. They used to live in the Ash House for nurses within the hospital premises. Later in 2014, they shifted from there. Later, Letby started living alone in a colleague's flat. She continued to live there till June 2015.

Since 2015, Lucy has been tasked with caring for sick children. In the meantime, she would occasionally go to work at Liverpool Women's Hospital. Police have also begun investigating their activities in Liverpool as part of a new investigation. Having had enough of living in a friend's flat, Lucy moved back into Ash House, and in 2016 moved to her house on Westbourne Road in Chester. It is during this period that Lucy Letby begins her killing spree.

Even after reaching earth, her colleagues, friends, relatives and parents are now wondering how Lucy Lettb had the heart to kill those innocent children without letting them know what life is. Psychologists have put forward many reasons, but the police have not been able to find out what motivated Letby to do such an act.
