Irish-Israeli woman missing after attack at festival in Israel. 260 dead bodies were recovered from the concert venue alone. Ten Nepali nationals, three Britons including one serving in the Israeli army, and two Ukrainian nationals were killed in the Hamas attack. There are reports that four American citizens were killed, but neither the US nor Israel have confirmed. Indian citizens will be evacuated if necessary

Kim Damti, 22, was at a music event in Re'im in the south of Israel. when she was last seen.. The incident happened after the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas launched an attack across the border from Gaza. Sister Emily said she spoke with officials at the Irish Embassy.

Tánaiste Michael Martin says the Department of Foreign Affairs has contacted the family of an Irish-Israeli woman who went missing in Israel. Martin said he does not intend to comment specifically on the case at this stage. "As more information is revealed, I think the full horror of the crimes committed by Hamas yesterday will be uncovered," he said. "Hundreds of innocent people were killed in the most brutal manner."

Tánaiste  Leo Varadkar said the government did not have exact details but the Irish embassy on the ground was aware of it. Varadkar added: "We don't have any concrete details beyond that, but of course we are aware of it, that the attack by Hamas is the worst Israel has faced in 40 years.

A spokesman for the Department of Foreign Affairs says the embassy is ready to provide assistance to Irish or dual nationals caught up in the attack and is currently in touch with a "small number" of Irish nationals in Gaza. Department urged all citizens to avoid all travel to southern Israel, and said people in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territory should be "extremely cautious". Those traveling in and out of the airport were told to stay in touch with their airlines for updates.

The more conflict situation there is, the more likely it is to escalate. Any citizen currently in Israel or the Occupied Palestinian Territory must register with the Irish Embassy."

Martin said the attack was a clear violation of international law and that Israel had the right to self-defense. Martin said the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs had activated an "emergency response team" to assist Irish nationals in Israel and that in addition to the travel warning, any Irish national in Israel should contact the Irish Embassy. The State Department said it was closely monitoring the situation in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories through its embassy in Tel Aviv and its representative office in Ramallah.

Our HQ team provides support to Irish citizens. "Anyone with concerns can contact the DFA on 01-4082000," the statement said. We urge Irish citizens in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory to follow our embassy's advice. Irish citizens should avoid non-essential travel and register with the embassy, it added.
