New Delhi: Oil theft worth lakhs by drilling Indian oil pipeline. The theft took place at a pipeline in Pochanpur village of Dwarka.
It was discovered that the theft was being done through the tunnel since last June. A tunnel was dug 40 meters deep to steal the oil.
Police arrested one person in the incident. Dwarka Deputy Commissioner M Harsha Vardhan said that equipments were seized from the place where the theft took place. IOL officials informed the police after suspecting that oil theft was taking place at the place. The theft was discovered during the subsequent investigation.
Delhi Police said that the accused was continuously stealing oil from the IOCL pipeline two meters below. Oil was stolen by constructing a 40 to 45 meter tunnel near an open underground pipeline to a nearby plot. Police said it was found that the oil was stolen by the owner of the place where the tunnel was made.
