A Status Yellow warning is in effect for 23 counties in Ireland for severe cold. The coming days will be even colder with some areas expected to drop below -3C and snow and ice expected.
Road users are being urged to take care as temperatures are set to drop tomorrow evening. The Road Safety Authority said the low temperatures will lead to hazardous conditions on roads and footpaths.
Met Éireann said the warning will come into effect at 6pm tomorrow for Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Leish, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wicklow, Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon and Sligo. The warning will remain in place until Friday afternoon

Met Eireann says the weather will be colder over the next few days. Overnight temperatures will drop below freezing in many places, accompanied by wintry showers at places. Current conditions suggest Monday and Tuesday will continue to be cold, but mainly dry.
The UK Met Office has issued a yellow ice warning for Antrim, Armagh, Down, Tyrone and Derry from 5pm today until 10am tomorrow. It says snow can cause difficult driving conditions.
