New York: A millionaire Indian couple and their teenage daughter were found dead in America. They were found dead in a luxury residence worth Rs 41 crore in Massachusetts. Rakesh Kamal (57), his wife Tina (54) and Ariana (18) died.
Recently, it was discovered that the couple was having financial problems. Tina was the Chief Operating Officer of Edunova Company. Tina studied at Delhi University and Harvard University. Rakesh studied at Boston University, MIT Sloan School of Management and Stanford University.
The family lived in a $5 million home in Dover. After receiving no information about them for two days, the relative came to know about the incident. There is no evidence that someone from outside killed him. At the same time, the police did not release the information about how they died.
The couple previously ran Edunova, an education firm they launched in Boston in 2016. Edunova, an educational institution that is slated to close by 2021, is no longer operational. After the closure of the educational institution, Tina filed a paper petition in 2022, but the case was rejected due to lack of sufficient documents.
Their multimillion-dollar home was foreclosed on a year ago and sold to Massachusetts-based Wilsondale Associates LLC for $3 million. They purchased the 11-bedroom, 13-bathroom, 19,000-square-foot estate in 2019 for $4 million.
The district attorney said a gun was found near her husband's body. The lawyer added that a family quarrel led to the tragedy. The district attorney said they are awaiting the medical examiner's explanation as to whether it was suicide or murder.
