- India: 716 applicants
- Syrian Arab Republic: 425 applicants
- Brazil: 4th place
- Afghanistan, Poland, and United Kingdom: UK cohort comprised 246 applicants
- Remaining Top Ten: Somalia, Romania, and the Philippines
Legislative Backdrop
The ceremonies took place as the Government prepares to overhaul naturalisation criteria under the Irish Nationality and Citizenship Amendment Bill 2026, recently brought to Cabinet by Justice Minister Jim O'Callaghan. Addressing attendees, Minister of State for Migration Colm Brophy confirmed that the stricter eligibility framework outlined in the legislation remains on course for full implementation by the end of this year.
Next Steps for New Citizens
- Certificates of Naturalisation: Newly sworn citizens do not collect certificates on-site; the Immigration Service Delivery (ISD) will dispatch all official Certificates of Naturalisation via post directly to registered home addresses.
- Child Applicants: Minor applicants were exempt from attending in-person proceedings and will also have their certificates delivered by mail.
- Pending Applicants: Those awaiting invitations for upcoming ceremonies or decisions on submitted applications can track updates via the official Irish Immigration Service portal.
