Queensland: A 28-year-old Indian woman was found dead after being trapped in a vehicle swept away by floods.
The Indian High Commission in Canberra said its mission team has contacted the authorities to take further action.
The woman's vehicle was found partially submerged in water. Mount Isa Police Superintendent Tom Armitt said that the incident is under investigation.
The preliminary conclusion is that the young woman tried to drive on the road where there was only about a foot of water, but the vehicle was swept away by the strong current.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Service personnel arrived and took the body out. A spokesman for the Phosphate Hill manufacturing plant confirmed the woman was an employee.
Meanwhile, the police have not disclosed the name of the young woman.
