the country is adopting new criminal laws from July 1 after abandoning the British colonial era criminal laws. From then on, the new criminal laws will apply to the courts and the police. The Indian Code is coming.
CrPC of 1898 was replaced by Indian Civil Protection Code. Evidence Act of 1872 will be replaced by Indian Evidence.
Till now, digital evidence was considered as secondary evidence, but under the new law, these will become primary evidence. Phone records, video and audio records, CCTV footage and tower location will all be crucial in the case.
