Washington: Indian Ambassador Vinay Mohan Kwatra, newly appointed as the new Indian Ambassador to the United States, arrived in the United States on August 12.
“Delighted to welcome Ambassador Vinay Mohan Kwatra as the new Indian Ambassador to the US. All of us at the Indian Embassy are excited to work under his leadership,” Charge d'Affaires Sreepriya Ranganathan said in the post. The 61-year-old Kwatra, who most recently served as India's foreign secretary, also held positions as India's ambassador to France and Nepal before becoming foreign secretary. He retired from foreign service on 14 July 2024.

In the coming days, the new Indian Ambassador Vinay Mohan Kwatra is expected to visit US President Joe Biden and submit his credentials and take charge as the new ambassador.
