Spreading conflict in Bangladesh, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has resigned

Dhaka: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has resigned. The army has demanded Sheikh Hasina's resignation amid strong anti-government protests in the country. The army gave Hasina an ultimatum to resign within 45 minutes.

Over 100 people were killed in the clashes between activists of the ruling Awami League and protesters. The agitation which started on the issue of reservation in government jobs turned into a strike against the government.

More than two hundred people were killed in the clashes that took place a few days ago on the issue of reservation. The agitation against the government started after this ended.

Insurgency has spread in 13 districts of the country. Sheikh Hasina has announced an indefinite curfew in the country, announcing that the agitation will be suppressed with an iron fist. A national holiday has also been declared for 3 days from today. Social media was also banned. Mobile companies were also asked to block internet access.

The non-cooperation strike was announced by a group called 'Anti-Discrimination Student Movement'. The protesters had called for non-payment of taxes and various government bills. Government and private employees were also called to join the strike and the work of the offices came to a standstill.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called for a discussion on Saturday, but the protesters did not come. After this, Sheikh Hasina announced that terrorists, not students, are behind the agitation and will suppress it with an iron fist.

After Hasina asked the people to suppress the terrorists who are trying to disintegrate the country, the party workers took the stage. This made the situation worse.

The agitation started in Bangladesh against the provision of reservation in the country's top government jobs, including to the children and grandchildren of the freedom fighters who participated in the liberation war that freed Bangladesh from Pakistan in 1971. This later turned into an agitation against the government.

In the situation of spreading conflict in Bangladesh, the central government has issued a warning to Indian citizens.
