New Delhi: The central government has hiked the minimum wage rate to take into account the rising cost of living of workers in the organized sector.
The wage rates of skilled, semi-skilled and skilled workers in the organized sector have increased. The central government issued an order in this regard. Workers in construction, loading, unloading, watch and ward, sweeping, cleaning, housekeeping, mining, central sphere and agricultural sectors will also benefit from the revised wage rate.
The minimum wage rate for construction, sweeping, cleaning, loading and unloading workers will be Rs 783 per day (Rs 20,358 per month). Semi-skilled workers get Rs 868 per day (Rs 22,568 per month) and skilled workers get Rs 954 per day (Rs 24,804 per month).
There is also an increase in the wages of highly skilled workers. 1,035 per day wages. The workers get a monthly salary of Rs 26,910 through this. The central government also announced that the new wages will be effective from October 1.
