Gujarat Strengthens Its Position as a Leading Tourist Destination During Diwali Holidays

Gujarat has firmly established itself as a premier destination for both domestic and international tourists, celebrated for its rich cultural heritage and breathtaking natural beauty. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the state has made remarkable strides in enhancing its tourism infrastructure, aiming to elevate Gujarat's global reputation in the travel sector.


This commitment to excellence is reflected in the significant increase in tourist activity during the recent Diwali holiday period, from October 26 to November 15, 2024. Over 61.70 lakh visitors explored 16 prominent tourist destinations and pilgrimage sites across the state, underscoring Gujarat's appeal as a favored travel destination.

Among the attractions, Ahmedabad's Kankaria Lake welcomed more than 5.50 lakh visitors, while the Dwarka Temple emerged as the most visited site, attracting over 13 lakh devotees.

Iconic landmarks such as the Statue of Unity, Atal Bridge, Riverfront Flower Park, Kankaria Lake, Pavagadh Temple, Ambaji Temple, Girnar Ropeway, Science City, Vadnagar, Somnath Temple, Dwarka Temple, Nadabet, Modhera Sun Temple, Smritivan Memorial, Gir Safari, and Dandi Smarak experienced overwhelming visitor turnout, showcasing their growing popularity.

These achievements highlight Gujarat's successful efforts to provide an exceptional experience to tourists, further solidifying its status as a leading destination during the festive season.
