Indian Fishing Vessel Collides with Navy Submarine Off Goa Coast: 2 Crew Members Missing
An Indian fishing vessel, Marthoma, carrying 13 crew members, collided with a Scorpene-class submarine 70 nautical miles off the Goa coast, the Defence Ministry reported on Friday, November 22.
The Indian Navy has initiated a large-scale search and rescue operation involving six ships and aircraft. So far, 11 crew members have been rescued, but two remain missing.
The Defence Ministry stated that the cause of the collision is under investigation.

These submarines are equipped for diverse missions, including anti-surface and anti-submarine warfare, intelligence gathering, and area surveillance.
