Ireland; Alcohol not only destroys the intelligence and memory but also brings a prison sentence in Ireland, the Irish court sentenced an indian national to two and a half years in prison in the case of driving at high speed and endangering young women. The accident happened on April 9, 2023 in Ballymahon, County Longford.
Father-of-three Jaison Kurien, migrated from Kerala state was jailed for two-and-a-half years after he pleaded guilty to dangerous driving in April 2023 in County Longford in which two young women were seriously injured.
The court sentenced 46-year-old Jason Kurian, a resident of Ballyclare Court in Ballyleague, Roscommon, Ireland, to prison. Jason's vehicle collided with the vehicle the young women were traveling in on his way home after work. It is reported that the Mr.Jaison who faced legal action after the incident finally confessed to the crime. Mr.Jaison, who served food at the functions as well, and he was returning home with "catering equipment" in his VW Caddy van when the accident happened.
He admitted that had consumed wine and whiskey before going home from Mullingar. The group of young women from Longford were returning to their home in Ballymahon when the accident happened on the R392 at around 3am. The victims were later taken to Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore and Ms Fox was transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin where she underwent brain surgery.A road side breath test was conducted on Jaison and a reading of 48 mg of alcohol was found in 100 ml of breath. That was more than twice the legal limit for driving in Ireland. Jaison claimed that the glare from the oncoming vehicle's headlights had impaired his vision, but the court rejected Jason's argument. He was then sentenced to two and a half years in prison.
