In a strong rebuttal to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal’s recent accusations, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) dismissed claims of political targeting and described them as "baseless." Kejriwal had alleged that the BJP was using false cases to undermine AAP leaders and disrupt the party's governance and welfare initiatives. He further suggested that the BJP, fearing AAP’s increasing popularity, was resorting to underhanded tactics, asserting, “No matter how many false cases are made, justice ultimately prevails.”
During his address, Kejriwal also alleged that several key AAP leaders, including Atishi, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Satyendar Jain, and Manish Sisodia, were likely to face raids from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) as part of a broader scheme to intimidate and distract the party. He claimed that sources had informed him that the BJP had pressurized the ED, CBI, and the Income Tax Department to target Delhi CM Atishi with fabricated charges. Kejriwal contended that these actions were aimed at diverting attention from AAP's ongoing campaigns.
In response, BJP spokesperson Amit Malviya criticized Kejriwal’s remarks, accusing him of resorting to baseless accusations in a bid to salvage his party’s credibility. Malviya pointed out that Kejriwal’s earlier false claims regarding the Mahila Samman Yojana and Sanjeevani Yojana had been exposed, and suggested that the AAP leader was only seeking attention. “Kejriwal’s facade has crumbled, and with AAP facing defeat in the upcoming elections, he now resorts to making baseless allegations. In his press conference, the only thing he didn’t do was shed tears,” Malviya remarked.
Congress leader Ajay Maken also weighed in, suggesting that Kejriwal’s claims were intended to keep him in the public eye. Maken likened the AAP leader’s statements to “throwing stones in the pond to create ripples,” implying that the allegations were designed to generate controversy and media attention.
