In a significant development, Russia's city of Kazan came under attack as eight drones struck multiple high-rise buildings in rapid succession. The targeted structures sustained damage, prompting immediate evacuation and emergency response efforts by local authorities.

In the aftermath of the attack, Russian aviation regulator Rosaviatsia announced the temporary suspension of operations at Kazan Airport. Similar restrictions were also imposed at Izhevsk Airport. Kazan, situated approximately 800 kilometers east of Moscow, remains on high alert.
According to the Russian news agency Sputnik, air defense systems successfully intercepted one drone over Kazan, but several others managed to breach the city’s defenses.
The attack on Kazan followed Russia's extensive overnight assault on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities on Friday. Russian forces reportedly launched a combination of 60 drones and five ballistic missiles, targeting residential areas in the Ukrainian capital.
The strikes resulted in one fatality and left multiple civilians injured. The violence underscores the intensifying conflict between the two nations, with both sides exchanging accusations and escalating military actions.
