India’s U19 Women’s cricket team emerged victorious in the inaugural edition of the ACC U19 Women’s Asia Cup, defeating Bangladesh by 41 runs in the final held in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday. The win was powered by a stellar performance from the Indian spinners and a crucial half-century from opener G. Trisha.
Defending a modest target of 118, India’s spin trio—Parunika Sisodia, Aayushi Shukla, and Sonam Yadav—turned the match in their favor, collectively claiming seven wickets. The Bangladeshi team was bowled out for just 76 runs in 18.3 overs. Aayushi Shukla delivered a standout performance, taking 3/17 in her 3.3 overs. Parunika Sisodia and Sonam Yadav provided strong support, picking up two wickets each while conceding 12 and 13 runs, respectively.
Earlier in the match, India posted a total of 117/7 in their 20 overs, led by a composed 52-run knock from opener G. Trisha.
