Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal criticized the BJP-led Central government on Monday for its alleged failure to ensure women's safety and maintain law and order in Delhi. Speaking at the 'Mahila Adalat' event held at Thyagaraj Stadium, Kejriwal accused the BJP of not prioritizing women's security, despite having authority over the Delhi Police.
“Ten years ago, you entrusted me with the responsibility of improving schools, hospitals, and water supply in Delhi, and I have fulfilled that mandate. But you gave the responsibility of security to the BJP and Amit Shah, who have failed,” Kejriwal said, as reported by PTI.
Highlighting his administration’s initiatives, the former chief minister emphasized that he does not view women as a mere “vote bank” and has taken all possible measures within his jurisdiction to improve their safety.
“Before AAP came to power, there were no CCTV cameras in the city. We installed CCTV cameras and deployed bus marshals to enhance security,” Kejriwal noted, underscoring the efforts made by his government to address safety concerns in public spaces.
