Storm "darragh will hit Ireland" Status Orange warning in 16 counties tomorrow night
An orange wind warning for "Storm darragh to hit Ireland" will be in effect for many counties nationwide from 10.00 pm on Friday.
MET ÉIREANN has today issued weather warnings that Storm Darrah will bring strong winds and rain across the country this weekend. A status orange wind warning will affect sixteen counties over the next two days. A Friday night warning will be in effect for counties Kerry, Clare, Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal this weekend, as well as counties Fermanagh, Armagh, Tyrone and Down.
Antrim and Derry... An Orange Wind Warning is in effect from 10.00pm on Friday and remains in effect until 9.00am on Saturday. A special orange wind warning will be in place for Wicklow, Wexford and Waterford from midnight to 9.00am on Saturday.
Met Éireann warned of "very difficult travel conditions" during the storm, with fallen trees, downed power lines, large sea waves and damage expected.
