The Crime Branch unit of Haryana's Hodal subdivision has apprehended three criminals wanted in connection with multiple serious offences across several states. Among them is a fugitive carrying a Rs 10,000 reward on his head. The arrests are part of ongoing efforts to combat organized crime and bring high-profile offenders to justice.
Key Arrests
1. Shakil alias Risky (Rs 10,000 Reward Fugitive)
Shakil, a resident of Aliemeo village, was arrested on Monday following actionable intelligence, according to Manoj Verma, DSP of the Crime Branch. Known for his involvement in ATM fraud and other crimes, Shakil had been evading arrest since 2019. That year, he defrauded a woman of Rs 4.20 lakh by swapping her ATM card.
Despite the arrest of three accomplices, Shakil remained at large and was implicated in at least 17 criminal cases, including ATM fraud, robbery, and cheating, spanning Haryana, Rajasthan, and Delhi. The Rajasthan Police had announced a Rs 10,000 reward for his capture in connection with a theft case in Jaipur’s Shyam Nagar area.
2. Mahender (Wanted for Nine Serious Offences)
In a separate case, Palwal’s Crime Branch arrested Mahender, a man accused of nine serious crimes, including murder, robbery, dacoity, kidnapping, and rape. His most recent charge stems from a December 13 incident, where he allegedly broke into a house, assaulted the resident, and stole a gold chain in a residential society.
3. Usman (Proclaimed Offender)
The third arrest involved Usman, a Proclaimed Offender from Jalalpur village in the Hathin subdivision. Wanted in a 2016 murder and robbery case involving nine accused, Usman had been evading law enforcement for years.
All three suspects are currently being interrogated as police continue their investigation into their crimes. Authorities confirmed that the accused would be presented in court shortly, with further charges expected as inquiries progress.
These arrests highlight the Crime Branch’s commitment to tackling organized crime and bringing offenders to justice across Haryana, Rajasthan, and Delhi.
