Arvind Kejriwal has conceded defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections, acknowledging the people's mandate with humility. In a video message, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief congratulated the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on their victory and expressed hope that they would fulfill their electoral promises.
"We accept the mandate of the people with great humility. I congratulate the BJP for this victory and hope they will fulfill all the promises for which people have voted for them," Kejriwal stated.
Kejriwal further emphasized that AAP will continue to serve the people of Delhi as a responsible opposition while maintaining its focus on key sectors such as health, education, and infrastructure.
"Over the last decade, we have undertaken significant initiatives in healthcare, education, and infrastructure. We will not only play the role of a constructive opposition but also remain engaged with the people and continue serving them," he affirmed.
As per the latest election results, the BJP has secured 12 seats and is leading in 38, while AAP has won 10 seats and is ahead in another 10. The Congress, meanwhile, has yet to register a victory. In the New Delhi constituency, Kejriwal faced defeat as BJP's Parvesh Verma emerged victorious by a margin of 4,089 votes.
