Hoshiarpur: In a shocking incident, police in Hoshiarpur’s Sadar police station jurisdiction recovered a buried body from a field in Patiala village, sparking widespread concern. Initial reports indicate that the man was allegedly murdered by his accomplices, who later fled the scene after burying his body.
According to the victim’s daughter, her father worked as a woodcutter and had traveled to Patiala with four associates to fell poplar trees. He had been missing since February 21. Following days of desperate searching, the family learned that the victim had been strangled to death by his own associates, who then concealed his body by burying it in a field.
Upon receiving a complaint from the family, the Sadar police station took swift action. On Monday morning, in the presence of village elders, police exhumed the body and sent it for post-mortem examination at Hoshiarpur Civil Hospital.
Speaking on the incident, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Sadar police station confirmed that they had received information about the buried body late last night. “Based on the family’s statements, a case has been registered, and efforts are underway to arrest the accused at the earliest,” he said, assuring that those responsible would be brought to justice.
