New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday emphasized the need for leaders across various sectors who possess a global outlook while remaining deeply rooted in Indian values. Speaking at the School of Ultimate Leadership conclave, he underscored the importance of leadership that integrates international perspectives with a distinctly Indian approach.
"We need individuals who advance with an understanding of the global mindset while maintaining an Indian ethos," Modi stated, advocating for leadership that reflects India's national vision in fields such as governance, business, and public service.
Highlighting India's rise as a global powerhouse, he stressed the necessity of world-class leadership to sustain and accelerate this momentum. He called for leaders who can navigate global complexities, address international challenges, and simultaneously uphold India's strategic interests on the world stage.
The Prime Minister also underscored the role of human resources in fostering innovation and skill development, asserting that leadership must drive progress across industries. Citing Gujarat as an example, he recalled skepticism about the state's potential due to its lack of natural resources. However, through visionary leadership, Gujarat has emerged as a global hub—despite having no diamond mines, nine out of ten diamonds in the world pass through Gujarati hands, he noted.
He hailed the School of Ultimate Leadership as a transformative initiative aimed at nurturing "authentic leaders to advance public good." According to an official statement, the institution seeks to serve as a premier platform where leaders from politics, sports, arts, media, spirituality, public policy, business, and social sectors will share their experiences and insights on leadership.
The two-day conclave, the statement added, is designed to foster discussions on leadership principles while providing a space for distinguished personalities to inspire the next generation of leaders.
