Paris, France: Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in discussions with French President Emmanuel Macron and U.S. Vice President JD Vance on Monday during a high-profile dinner hosted by President Macron at the Élysée Palace.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the informal interaction took place on the sidelines of the event, which was attended by several global leaders, including Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
Prime Minister Modi’s visit to France marks the first leg of his two-nation tour, which will later take him to the United States. During his three-day stay in Paris, he is set to co-chair the AI Action Summit alongside President Macron, engage in bilateral talks, and address leading business figures.
The leaders will hold discussions in both restricted and delegation-level formats, focusing on strengthening the India-France strategic partnership under the 2047 Horizon Roadmap. Modi emphasized the significance of this visit, noting that it presents an opportunity to assess the progress of the roadmap alongside “my friend” President Macron.
On Wednesday, the two leaders will visit the Mazargues War Cemetery in Marseille, a site maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, to honor the contributions of Indian soldiers in World War I. Additionally, they will inaugurate the newest Consulate General of India in Marseille, reinforcing diplomatic ties between the two nations.
This marks Prime Minister Modi’s sixth visit to France, underscoring the deepening relationship between New Delhi and Paris.
