SP MP Awadhesh Prasad Moved to Tears During Press Conference Over Dalit Girl's Murder Case

On Sunday, Samajwadi Party Member of Parliament (MP) Awadhesh Prasad, representing Faizabad, was visibly emotional as he addressed a press conference in Ayodhya, breaking down in tears while discussing the brutal rape and murder of a Dalit girl. The MP, who had met with the victim’s family the previous day, expressed his deep sorrow and vowed to secure justice for them. In a heartfelt moment, Prasad pledged that if justice was not served, he would resign from his position in the Lok Sabha.

The emotional scene at the crowded press conference stunned attendees as Prasad’s voice faltered while recounting his conversation with the family members of the victim. Despite efforts from former minister Tej Narayan Pandey Pawan and Samajwadi Party district president Parasnath Yadav to console him, Prasad continued to express his anguish over the horrific crime.

In response to Prasad’s emotional plea, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath dismissed the MP’s tears as mere theatrics, suggesting that the involvement of a Samajwadi Party "goon" in the crime would soon be uncovered. “An incident occurred in Ayodhya, and once the investigation is completed, the involvement of some cruel individuals from the Samajwadi Party will certainly be revealed,” Adityanath remarked.

Disturbing Discovery in Ayodhya: Dalit Woman Found Murdered

The tragic case involves the discovery of the body of a 22-year-old Dalit woman who had been missing since Thursday evening. Her body, found in a remote canal near her village in Ayodhya, was discovered in a horrifying condition, with blood-soaked clothes located nearby. The police suspect the woman was both raped and murdered. Family members reported that her eyes were missing and that her body showed signs of extreme violence, including deep wounds and fractures.

According to the family, the woman had been missing since Thursday night. Her brother-in-law discovered the body on Saturday morning, approximately 500 meters from the village. Disturbingly, the victim’s limbs were bound with ropes, and the body bore multiple deep cuts. Villagers, who helped transport the body, observed fractures and severe injuries. The victim's sister and two other women reportedly collapsed upon seeing the horrific condition of the body.

Circle Officer Ashutosh Tiwari confirmed that a missing person report had been filed on Friday. Following the recovery of the body, a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death. Tiwari emphasized that once the post-mortem results are received, appropriate legal action will be taken.

The victim's family has accused the police of negligence, claiming that authorities did not adequately investigate the disappearance despite the missing persons report being filed. As a result, a large crowd gathered at the scene, demanding swift justice. The police have launched an investigation, with efforts underway to identify and apprehend those responsible for this heinous crime.
