Telangana Police Crack Down on Human Trafficking; Multiple Arrests and Rescues Reported

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], February 20: In a decisive action against human trafficking, the Telangana Police, in coordination with the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU), conducted a raid on a beauty salon and spa in Kondapur, under the jurisdiction of Gachibowli Police Station, on Wednesday night. The operation resulted in the rescue of four women who were allegedly being forced into prostitution, while three customers and an organizer, identified as Satyanarayana, were taken into custody.


"Last night, we conducted a raid in collaboration with AHTU officials at Stylish Beauty Salon and Spa in Kondapur. Four victims were rescued, and three customers, along with the organizer Satyanarayana, were detained," stated the Inspector of Gachibowli Police Station.

Kachiguda Police Bust Human Trafficking Racket; Infant Rescued

In a separate case, Kachiguda Police dismantled a human trafficking network, successfully rescuing a two-month-old baby boy who had been abducted from a shopping complex on February 11. The prime suspect, Boga Narsing Raj, was apprehended within five hours, and the child was recovered from a woman who had allegedly purchased him.

Authorities reported that the incident occurred at D-Mart in Kachiguda on February 10, where the accused had accompanied the mother and child for shopping. Seizing an opportunity while the mother was selecting clothes, the suspect absconded with the infant in a hired auto-rickshaw.

Following the complaint, two special investigation teams, led by SI D Subhash and P Ravi Kumar, were formed to track down the perpetrator using CCTV footage. The investigation led to the identification and arrest of the prime suspect, Boga Narsing Raj, in Gowliguda, Hyderabad. The baby was located at the residence of Sandhya Rani, who had allegedly purchased him, and was subsequently reunited with his biological mother, Shervatti Varalaxmi.

Kachiguda Police have registered a case under Sections 137(2), 80, and 81 of the Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act, 2015. Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the case—Boga Narsing Raj, a 46-year-old X-ray technician at Nikhil Hospital, and Raghavender, a 48-year-old government employee. Meanwhile, a third suspect, N. Umavathi, 55, remains at large.

The Telangana Police continue to intensify their efforts to combat human trafficking, ensuring swift action and justice for victims.
