Patna, March 5, 2025 – Political strategist and Jansuraj Party founder Prashant Kishor has claimed that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will not retain his position even if the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) secures victory in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
"BJP is Using Nitish Kumar as a Mere Facade" – Prashant Kishor
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Kishor responded to a question by stating, "When Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Bihar, he referred to Nitish Kumar as the ‘beloved Chief Minister’ of the state. I urge him to make a clear declaration during his next visit that this ‘beloved leader’ will continue as CM for the next five years. If he does so, the BJP will face defeat in all seats of Champaran."
Kishor further alleged that the BJP is leveraging Nitish Kumar’s presence to secure votes but intends to replace him after the elections. "The BJP wants to use Nitish Kumar as a mere mask to win votes. Once the elections are over, they will remove him and install their own Chief Minister," he asserted.
"Nitish Kumar Will Not Become Chief Minister" – Prashant Kishor
Dismissing speculations about Nitish Kumar voluntarily stepping down, Kishor stated that the Chief Minister lacks the strength to withdraw on his own. "He has always relied on the BJP’s power, resources, and organizational strength to contest elections. Except for 2015, Nitish Kumar has never fought an election without BJP’s support. He does not have the courage to contest independently," Kishor remarked.
He further claimed that Nitish Kumar has a history of switching alliances post-election but this time, the electorate has already made up its mind. "His party (Janata Dal-United) will win only a handful of seats. There will be no advantage in switching sides, and he will not become Chief Minister again," he concluded.
